The Oregon City High School Equestrian Team started out the season with a big win at the Tri River Valley OHSET meet February 19th-22nd at the Yamhill County Fairgrounds in McMinnville. The top individual scorers were senior Lilly Zuber with 88 points. She won keyhole & pole bending. Senior Mary Jolma scored 84 points with wins in Driving & in hand trail. Senior Callie Arnold scored 80 points, Junior Callie Strausbaugh with 76 points & Freshman Alexis Thompson with 67 who won Barrels & Figure 8. Freshman Zaharah Clayton had an impressive showing at her very first OHSET competition with wins in Steer Daubing & Individual Flags.
Rounding out the top team contributors was Callie Arnold with 228 points, Lilly Zuber (224), Chloie Strausbaugh (208), Freshman Addie Blanton (206) and Junior Harleigh O’Leary with (196).
The team took top honors in the team events: IHOR, Canadian Flags, Birangle, Drill & Sorting. Overall Oregon City scored 1273 points, second was Lake Oswego with 533 points. The Pioneers are looking forward to their next competition March 19-22nd!
